Rehearsals generally take place on Monday evenings, and most performances take place at the First Presbyterian Church (15th & Canyon) in downtown Boulder.

Boulder Symphony currently seeks:

  • Principal Second Violin - paid, contracted position
  • Section Violin
  • Section Viola
  • Section Double Bass

Position remains open until filled.

  • If selected, you will be required to appear in person for callbacks on August 27th.

August 25: 3:00pm - 9:00pm @ First Presbyterian Church in Boulder
August 26: 9:00am - 3:30pm @ Metro State University in Denver
August 27: CALLBACKS: 1:00pm - 6:00pm @ First Presbyterian Church in Boulder

Boulder Symphony Chorus Membership

The Boulder Symphony Opera & Chorus members have the rare and exciting opportunity to perform in the annual opera and for select concerts throughout the seasons.

Membership in the 2017-18 season would include:

  • Acceptance to the choir, through live audition - See Below
  • Rehearsals on Tuesday evenings in the few weeks prior to the upcoming Opera.  This does not include stage, tech and dress rehearsals.


To Audition for the 2017-2018 Choir: 
Chorus Auditions Are On September 9, 2017 (1:00-5:00 p.m.)

Interested singers may prepare two contrasting arias/art songs.  One must be in Italian.

Open to singers ages 15 - Adult.  (See below for Children Chorus Call)

CHILDREN'S CHORUS CALL:  Mendelssohn's A Midsummer Night's Dream

Boulder Symphony is looking for a children's chorus to join us on this enchanting piece.

Performance, November 18, 7:00 p.m.

Light, resonant voices, requested.  Please, no belters.  Ages:  7-14

Participation Fee of $25 is requested.

General Rehearsals on Tuesdays:  6:00-7:30 p.m., October 3, 10, 17, 24

Location:  Dana V. Music, 901 Front Street, Ensemble Room-Louisville, CO

Stage, Tech, & Dress Rehearsals with Symphony & Maestro:  At First Presbyterian Church in Boulder

Dates: November, 6, 13, 16, 17 (DRESS REHEARSAL), 18 (PERFORMANCE)  Call at 7:00 p.m.

*Please note that times will change to easily accommodate time for chorus.  Please see attachment above*

Children's Audition:  September 9, 2017 (1:00-5:00 p.m.)

Please prepare one piece to sing.  Can be folk, classical, or light musical theatre.  Please MT no belting pieces.  May be asked to vocalize for director.


Internships with the symphony

Our internships provide great opportunities to gain professional experience in a unique work environment. Boulder Symphony values quality work and commitment and is willing to invest resources in your learning experience.  

All internships are unpaid and will receive complimentary tickets to performances, as well as other perks.
