Boulder Symphony is proud to announce its
Summer Festival 2018
with a week of classes and performances in collaboration with
Boulder Music Institute
Flatirons Strings Academy
Who is it for?
The Summer Festival is a training course for aspiring string players and vocalists seeking to hone their skills in string ensemble playing and vocal performance practice in a supportive environment.
The course is suitable for anyone wishing to develop their performing skills to a higher level and is designed primarily for high school students, college students, and adults.
Dates and Location
Classes will be held from June 25 - 29, 2018
at First Presbyterian Church in Downtown Boulder.
Two performances will also take place at First Presbyterian on June 29 and 30, with additional performances occurring on Pearl Street Mall on June 29 and 30.
The schedule of classes is organized to give the same amount of teaching time and performance opportunities to all participants.
Each participant performs in daily coaching and masterclasses, and several times in concerts at the end of the week. In addition, there are group sessions in Alexander Technique, performance psychology, and movement, alongside daily coachings and workshops, which provides students with an intense and highly supportive atmosphere.
Repertoire will be tailored to individual participants, including chamber, operatic, and symphonic music.
The Festival assembles a team of expert coaches with complementary skills and a passionate interest in the development of young musicians.
